OPENING DANCE SEQUENCE- 2024
Opening Dance Sequence Theme
This years Opening Ceremony around the Famous Fountains will be a captivating 20 minute Dance Drama celebrating the Story of Lord Rama at Ayodhya and significance of Diwali. Eight Dance Schools from across London will give a glimpse of story of the Ramayana starting with Birth of Lord Rama followed by the Wedding of Rama and Sita. From happiness comes the painful Exile of Rama and Sita accompanied by Brother Laxman to the Forest for 14 years.
Our Forest dancers will welcome the Royals into the Forest, until Ravana the demon kidnaps Sita whilst Jatayu, the Eagle tries to defend Sita from Ravana but to no avail. The dance sequence then moves to Sita at Ashoka Gardens in Lanka where she is a hostage. Hanuman, the Hero and Rama's loyal servant then makes his entry into Lanka with the symbolic ring to reassure Sita that he is a devotee of Rama and Rama will come to rescue her. After the battle between Rama and Ravana where Ravana is slayed, Dancers depicting Fire will ensure that Sita walks through unscathed through the burning embers to be reunited with her Lord Rama. Final two celebratory dances welcome back Rama, Sita, Laxman and Hanuman to Ayodhya where the Holy Saint will place Crowns on Rama and Sita to depict the Coronation.
Diwali is celebrated to welcome back Lord Rama back to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile.
